The 800 metre Henrietta Creek to Goolagan Creek
track section
begins at the Henrietta Creek picnic and camping area and
winds along the banks of Henrietta Creek. It is an
excellent track to view aquatic wildlife such as
platypuses and turtles. There is a viewing area half way
along the walk at a waterhole. Make sure to check out the
various fig trees along the way. From Goolagan Creek you
can return the short distance to Henrietta Creek or
continue on to Wallicher Falls and Tchupala Falls.
Henrietta Creek to
Goolagan Creek is part of a network of walks in the
Palmerston section of Wooroonooran National Park. It can
be walked separately or as part of a longer walk from
Henrietta Creek to Tchupala Falls Trackhead and possibly
on to Crawfords Lookout and the North Johnstone River.
Wooroonooran National Park is an integral part of the Wet
Tropics World Heritage Area. Its fertile soils and
extremely wet climate have fostered some of the oldest
continually surviving rainforests on earth, making this
area of universal importance and value.
